The traditional marketing dilemma is that half my money is wasted - I just don't know which half! And while technology won't solve every problem, it certainly does an excellent job of both reducing costs and providing information previously unattainable.

Take this Business Links email, which we recently switched to an e-marketing provider. Where previously I had assumed that you all read every issue and clicked on every link, I now have the real information (which, importantly, shows engagement way above industry standards).

My team uses this extra information to provide more of what interests you (Sleep, Stress, and M&Ms) and less of what doesn't. Our marketing engages our clients and colleagues in a much more efficient way.

How well do you use technology to minimise waste?
