What I Did:
I completed a fact find with a client based in Dubai. This is a new client that was referred to me by a premium UK accounting firm.
I also completed a full week of coaching - a week of back-to-back days of coaching, in fact! I ran Six Steps, got the agenda, positioned the relationship and the day, ran a fact find and provided the SPACE to allow the client to find their own solutions.
Having the team format is allowing me to work completely differently than in the past. My time gets used more effectively coaching the CEOs and strategy groups, while the team services the rest of the business... designing strategy papers or supporting the implementation as required.
And lastly, I attended a Bryan Adams concert with my girls...Clare, Karen and Debs all rocked along to Mr Adams. As a live performance it was as good as I have ever seen. No gimmicks...just a voice, great songs, and a great band.
What I Learnt:
That the recent choice for myself to have true balance is coming to a reality. It seems that my choices and creations are all showing up. The types of clients that I want to work with are showing up...all Mid Tier, project-based, wanting support to grow their businesses and themselves. My lifestyle is reflecting more balance and I am loving work, finding time to enjoy the company of my wife, son, and dear friends. My health is better...I have lost 10kgs over the two months through exercise and better diet and also a choice to cut back on my favourite drink...beer!
The reality hit me in Dubai, as I was working with some very very smart and talented people that I am one a sensational coach, and the value that I can add to other coaches in training, etc.
Dubai has a population of around 4.5 million and a absolutely booming emerging economy that is very reliant on expat management skills in all sectors.
What I Felt:
Tired!! The round trip to Dubai was three days, including two days of fact finding; Empowered ...that this my business and I add immense value to it daily. I also feel younger today than I did when I was 30...I am living a life beyond any boundaries that I had imagined when I started work.
