I joined my son on his rugby tour to Milan with the local under-17s side. As they say, "what goes on tour stays on tour". I would not want any of you to think any less of me!!

But it did allow us to spend a delightful day by the shores of Lake Como, in northern Italy. WOW - put that on the "places to visit while I am in Italy" list. Como is one of the prettiest places that I've seen.

I also started work on a major implementation process for three different coaching projects. This is very exciting. It's wonderful to be working with a client that is truly committed to making a difference to the way that they do business and to providing staff with all the skills that they need to grow both commercially and culturally. The interesting thing about the process was that in designing the implementation of the projects, I have elected to actually sit down with the management team and walk through each piece of detail and ask the question, ‘Do you guys want to complete that task or is that something that Shirlaws should do with you?'. The wonderful thing about that process is that we are creating an implementation plan that is fully agreed to in terms of actions, time investment, budgets and outcomes.

We had our first UK functionality meeting for managing national distribution relationships. There is plenty of work to be done on this function, but that is exciting, as it just mirrors the growth of our distribution relationships - as they become more complex in terms of activity and resources, the Admin needs will change.

Over the last two days I've completed two sales calls, both of whom have had contact with Shirlaws before, but were too busy to think about implementing coaching and couldn't see how to at the time.

Clare has returned to Australia for a combined work and family trip. Her Mum is turning 85!! The nice touch is that she still reckons she's 80!! Clare held a "surprise" party for her Mum, and the good news is that after inviting long lost nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, in-laws, friends with children and a few strays that were loitering around the nursing home - it was a wonderful day.

I wonder, does mean that I'm not the "favourite" anymore because I didn't fly out to Australia and throw a party for her. Bugger, I will have to work on that one for my trip in August!

What I Learnt

  • That I - at times - do not acknowledge just how powerful the values of ‘Open, Honest, and Fair' are and the impact that they have had on my distribution relationships.
  • That I am continually responding to all events and conversations within my distribution relationships Openly, Honestly and Fairly to ensure that they have a "fresh" experience of building referral networks.
  • That my son is a gifted rugby player - he had not touched a ball for 18 months due to injury - so watching him play on tour was great but it was amazing to see his natural gifts shine during the game.

What I Felt

  • Very proud of the things that I am manifesting for me, for my family, and for our business
  • Very energised about the coaching work that I am doing
  • That I am staying present and focusing on source issues - that is allowing me to coach and live in context
  • That I make a difference!
