Paul joined Shirlaws in 2007.  He believes that great business is all about the people in it, and unlocking their creativity.  His strength is his ability stay out of the detail and help his clients think about the big picture.

Paul has had a successful career of more than twenty years that he describes as serious, but incredible fun.  This started as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte Touche in London, providing finance and business advice services to various clients, predominantly in the SME marketing and creative sectors.  He then joined Time Warner visiting their operations around the world, reviewing and improving their business processes and controls.

Returning to London he was finance controller of two leading advertising agencies before taking a career break to travel the world.  He settled in New Zealand in 2005 where, before joining Shirlaws, he managed the finance function of Haines NZ Ltd, the country's largest recruitment advertising agency.

Paul holds an Accountancy degree from Exeter University, is a UK Chartered Accountant and is an Associate Member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.  Outside work Paul's passions are travel and diving, and he occasionally works as a PADI diving instructor.
