Rob Pillans

Rob joined Shirlaws having been a client for over four years. He has a history of driving change, improving operational efficiency, planning and strategy development, as well as people development. His coaching supports clients through changes in their businesses to achieve growth and profitability.

Rob's background is predominantly in the professional services industry over 20 years, where he has filled senior roles in both client service and practice management areas. This includes roles for three of Australia's ten largest accounting networks. As General Manager for a highly respected mid-tier accounting firm, Rob oversaw a five-year period of unprecedented growth. 

Originally trained as a Chartered Accountant, Rob has diversified his experience through his leadership roles with responsibility for finance, administration & premises, human resources, marketing, information technology, risk management and general management. In 1997 and 1998 Rob was responsible for the set up and initial management of the headquarters for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

In addition to his accounting qualifications Rob is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has a Graduate Certificate in Design Science from Sydney University and is currently undertaking the Master of Business Coaching at the Sydney Business School of the University of Wollongong.

Rob has trekked in the Andes, Himalayas and European Alps, cycled through Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands and in winter enjoys cross-country skiing with his partner Kate.
