Joanne Bush

Joanne Bush

Joanne joined Shirlaws in 2007.  She believes that the key to business success lies in balancing financial reward with enjoyment and personal fulfilment.  The concept of balancing both soft (people) and hard (financial) factors in a growing business underpins the Shirlaws approach.

Having worked for organisations at both ends of this hard/soft spectrum, Joanne brings an understanding of both perspectives along with their respective strengths and weaknesses. Able to grasp the bigger commercial picture whilst staying mindful of individual and team motivations and aspirations, she is passionate about helping businesses develop all their strengths and the flexibility to move along the hard/soft continuum as the needs of the business demand.

Joanne ran her own communication consultancy in South Africa for eight years specialising in industrial markets with clients such as diversified technology leaders Honeywell, bearing and rail specialists The Timken Company and international engineering group Renold Plc. She has four years counselling experience with Life Line, has worked for the NHS (UK) and as printer for the South African Natural History Museum, technical writer for an armaments manufacturer, PRO for an exhibition organiser and sales manager for a national magazine publisher.

Joanne has an honours degree in psychology supported by a bachelor's degree in psychology and communication. She also has diplomas in pharmacy, technical writing, publishing and copywriting.
