Eric Bergen

In 2008 Eric Bergen established the Shirlaws El Dorado Hills team which serves the greater Sacramento, California area and beyond. Eric's experience as a senior executive in the managed care industry enables him to assist mid-sized businesses with their complex commercial and cultural issues. His passion is to help business leaders develop a positive legacy within the businesses they lead.

Eric obtained a Master's in Health Administration from the University of Colorado and then spent nearly 20 years in ever expanding leadership roles within health insurance companies. Eric was able to retire from UnitedHealth Group, the nation's number two insurance company, after successfully leading best practice teams, a clinical outcomes and research team and the company's pharmacy management division. He then spent 18 months managing a non-profit organization before taking time off for personal development and relaxation during "retirement". He brings his renewed energy and vast expertise to the Shirlaws Coaching business.

Eric and his wife, Leah, a family practice physician, spent most of their married life in the Midwest, raising their two sons and fighting off the cold weather. They happily returned to warm California two years ago once they became "empty nesters". Eric enjoys sailing, road trips and reading - and is attempting to rebuild an old Karmann Ghia in his spare time!
