Mike Smith
Mike joined Shirlaws in 2003, having previously owned his own business coaching and management training practice. His background in Marketing, Sales and Technical leadership roles enables him to feel just as comfortable rolling his sleeves up and implementing solutions, as he is discussing strategy with CEOs and senior management teams. Specialising in developing strategy, driving business efficiency and working with sales teams, Mike's passion is to achieve cultural as well as commercial gains for clients.
Mike has experience in coaching businesses of all sizes in a variety of sectors, and has an impressive track record in marketing, sales and technical roles in European and North American technology sector businesses, from start-ups through to multinational corporations. His extensive experience is backed up by academic achievement having attained an engineering degree and post graduate diplomas in management and marketing. Mike was elected a Chartered Marketer in 1998 and is member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
In his free time Mike loves to "get away from it all" by sailing his yacht off the South Coast or cycling along the lanes and byways of Dorset and Hampshire, taking numerous photographs along the way. He also enjoys getting his hands dirty tinkering with his two classic cars.
