Mike Davis

Mike joined Shirlaws in 2008.  He helps small and medium-sized businesses to achieve sustainable growth.  He particularly focuses on what he regards as the ‘foundations for success'- the strategic areas of Product, Positioning and Communication, and on how to maximise key distribution, sales and customer service relationships.

Mike is a business coach with extensive experience of marketing and communications, as well as the realities of developing and running an owner-managed business.

His initial career was with international advertising agencies, working in London, Milan, Tokyo and New York - with clients such as Procter & Gamble, HJ Heinz, Levi Jeans, and the British and the US Governments. 

He then co-founded an advertising agency in London that started from scratch and won major private and public sector clients including Reckitt & Colman, Express Newspapers, The Home Office, and the Department of Health. 

Mike went on to develop his own consultancy, working with clients as diverse as Leonard Cheshire Disability and The British Nuclear Group.  He was part of the IoD's Advisory Service from 2002, helping members, mainly SMEs, on planning, managing and implementing their positioning, marketing, communications, and sales.

When not working, Mike loves to be away from it all, fishing, skiing, or hiking.
