After a successful career spanning over 30 years, Duncan brings to Shirlaws the across-the-business knowledge and understanding to deliver successful business planning, business development and financial & human resource management.  Whilst delivering positive outcomes, he has the passion, understanding and commitment to act responsibly to preserve and protect the interests and performance of people on all levels.

Duncan originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked with leading accountancy firms in Adelaide, London, Hong Kong and Sydney.  With a passion for continuous learning, he undertook additional studies in Human Resource Development enabling him to undertake the development and delivery of training courses and the implementation of and improvements in human resource systems and procedures.

Possessing both strong financial management skills and commitment to high quality human resource management enabled Duncan to successfully meet the challenges in senior management roles across a range of dynamic and complex organisations including professional service firms (both accounting and legal), a zoo and a university student organisation.

Duncan's commitment to assist others is demonstrated by his being a long standing Board member of a number of not-for-profit organizations.

Duncan is happily married to Andrea and they are enjoying the challenge of living with two teenage children, Tim and Amelia.  Even though he enjoys spending time with his family, he also pursues his passion for playing tennis and supporting the Adelaide Crows.
