Mark Baxter

Mark specialises in driving depth of skill for Boards, CEOs and management teams in designing their business vision and strategy and translating this know-how into profitable and sustainable results to create aligned teams and enhanced shareholder value. He has coached a variety of clients from small and mid-tier businesses and professional service firms to corporates operating in the UK and across Europe.

Mark was one of the first people to join Shirlaws as a coach in the UK in 2003. He has played a number of roles in the business, contributing to the design and development of Shirlaws' intellectual property and currently as a member of the UK management team.

Prior to joining Shirlaws he spent 15 years building a number of successful and fast-growing consultancy businesses, working with blue-chip clients including, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Royal Insurance, Henderson Global Investors, Marsh, Willis, Bank of America, Paribas, Dresdner, Hewlett Packard, Unisys and Sky, amongst many others.

After an early career spent in the reinsurance industry in the City, Mark worked in a number of marketing, communications and investor relations consultancy roles before establishing the UK subsidiary of Ruder Finn Inc, one of the world's largest public relations firms. He later set up a boutique marketing consultancy before founding a pioneering e-commerce consultancy in the UK, which was a market leader in e-marketing, electronic publishing and the creation of electronic marketplaces and spawned a group of online businesses and JV companies. He is an experienced company director, has a degree in Philosophy and Literature from The University of Warwick and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
