Robin Th'ng
Robin joined Shirlaws UK in 2005, having worked in the education, research and professional services sectors in the construction and property industry for over 30 years.
Robin coaches and mentors both new and established SME businesses in the educational, research, professional and design and construction sectors. He started his career as a Research Fellow in ABACUS, University of Strathclyde and developed architectural software, which he later introduced and implemented in local governments offices.
In 1978, Robin joined Holmes Partnership. Within two years he was invited to become a Partner and was elected Managing Partner in 1986. During his 17-year tenure the business grew to be one of Scotland's largest practices and the most successful architectural business in UK.
He has a Bachelor degree in Architecture, an MBA and PhD and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a registered mentor for Business Mentoring Scotland.
Born in Malaysia, Robin grew up in Brunei. He is fluent in Malay, Mandarin and six Chinese dialects. His interests include yoga, meditation, wind surfing, skiing, cookery and travel. Robin's intent in life is to learn and share life experiences with others.
